I do lots of bartering, as you know, but I also like to throw in Freebies as we also get some Freebies from others. Someone recently sent us a Save On Foods gift card in the mail ... that was so timely. It's so neat how it comes full circle. I had just given away 2 boxes of things to some Mom's that I thought could use some encouragement!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest this year I got alot of things for free! (I have no qualms about using second hand items) I would have to say that the best thing I got this year was beautiful hardly even scratched bunk beds for my sons room!! They were just going to throw them away! People are crazy they could have easily sold them for at least a couple hundred bucks... Oh well their loss my gain!

I send deployed soldiers care packages and I usually go to garage sales to find DVD's that they can watch. This one woman overheard me talking to my mom about which ones they would like to see and she went inside took the DVD's that were in my hand and put them into a bag along with a pile of brand new unopened DVD's. She said her husband deployed before and she wanted to give me the dvd's as a donation. It was incredible. There were seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond, some newly released movies that the soldiers haven't seen yet, plus tons more. I was so shocked and gave her a huge hug. I've sent them all out to the troops and they LOVED them. One of the soldiers said they had an Everybody Loves Raymond marathon night along with the popcorn I sent on their downtime. Those "free" items really stick out in my head. There are some amazing people in the world.
