Shenanigans

I might have a small reputation for getting into some kind of shenanigans....I won't deny it...much lol. Here are a few pictures of some of the fun I have had in the last few years....there isn't enough space to show ALL of them lol. One things for sure...a good time is always to be had!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Making monkey business at old jobs lol

Photo bombing my daughters red carpet grad walk lol
Seeking out the police at my daughters grad for a photo op lol
Seeking out the police...again

Yes, there's seems to be a pattern in my life....always seeking the police..I blame my BFF Shannon for this lol
Drinking, fishing, and paddle boating...not always the best plan...the boat sinks mostly on my side lol

Dressing up in hazmat suits just because we can....again...BFF Shannon seems to be an accomplice in these things a lot lol

Grabbing bikes and riding them around Canadian Tire....no one to blame for this one lol
Stealing the bartenders tip boot so I can use it to drink my beer out of instead of the boring white cups lol

The importance of family

There are a million families out there like mine I am sure....but I like to think there is something eccentric about mine. There is a variety in my family, both immediate and extended. And by variety I mean, a variety of personalities, beliefs, ideas, morals etc.
The reason for this post today is because I was surrounded by all of the above for the last three days. My side of the family came here and my Daughters Dad side of the family was here. Now one would think that would make for a "sticky" situation, but it was quite the opposite.
When you begin a blog, you know in your mind that there are people reading it from anywhere in the world, so what your writing can and is being read by ANYONE. I have never been the type of person to sensor myself, so why would I bother doing it here on my cyber on line like journal/blog type thing lol. So with that being said I am sharing all of this in hopes that my ex in-laws will read this and know how happy I was this weekend.
Yes, my ex husband and his wife and their kids came, my ex mother in law and my ex sister in laws and ex brother in law were here too....and it was GREAT. I am so blessed to be still welcomed by a family that was split so many years ago by two people who were young and dumb (yes, me and my ex, no I will not say who was dumber lol, however I take full responsibility in being young and dumb for my part lol) Everything happens for a reason has always been my belief and you learn from everything. That side of the family has taught me many things.
My ex husband and his wife could tell you many stories of the ups and downs we all have had, it has not been an easy ride, but what makes me smile is the fact that this weekend my daughter graduated and we ALL came together like a proud family, and gave her ALL of OUR love. It was sooooooooooo great to see her so happy and relaxed, surrounded by ALL of her family.
We may not get along, we may get upset or irritated, or disagree, but at the end of the day, we are all connected, we are all family, and that has to count for something!!!!!
My side of the family this weekend experienced all kinds of insanity....from my son conducting pop up bible studies with my parents in the dining room challenging my mother's core belief values lol to having a mini rave dance party in the living room with us all crowed in one spot.
I had the wonderful experience of having a camp fire with my ex husband all of his family, sitting around talking about old times and hearing new stories and reconnecting with them all.
So I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you for making this a AWESOME memorable weekend!
Dad and Step Dad giving their girl some love :-)

A very proud Mom and Step Mom :-)
Father/Daughter first dance at prom

Two proud Grandmothers!
One totally pooped out Papa from all the excitement lol trying to catch a lil nap

A story about a girl

Once upon a time there was a girl. She was born early that year of 1995, she was born with a head of hair like non other. She was also born with as set of lungs that did not stop for 7 months...some might call that colic....others might call it training. Training and preparation for the later years of teenage hood.
Once  the "training" stopped, out came the beautiful smile and laughter that never stopped....again, until the teenage years....where laughter left her and began once she made it thru puberty.
All her life she had a talent, she was always creating, always drawing, always immersed in some type of creation...this would be the beginning of a longer journey yet to come, one she did not yet know about. One that non of us yet knew about......................

This story is about my daughter. This story cannot end today because really, it has just begun. In two days she will be walking across her graduation stage, walking from one stage into another stage of life.
I might have suggested that she go on to run a brothel and become the head madam of the small hotel in our new town....buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut no....she's gonna be something else.....like something AWESOME!!!!
In a month or so she will be moving to the big city of Calgary starting an awesome new life with awesome new adventures and then entering art school in Sept.
I'm not gonna lie...I'm pretty sure I will cry my eyes out on Friday when I watch her walk across the stage. Not just cause she is moving on, but I will be shedding tears that as a single parent for many years, I successfully accomplished getting two children to graduate from high school. Five years ago, my son graduated and now in two days my daughter.
What makes it even more special, is that we will all be together for his occasion, so I am excited for pictures of us all together.
So my baby girl....go forth and make ridiculously fun memories, make mistakes that you will learn from, and always be true to yourself and be always always be LOUD AND PROUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is how she will rule the world, just like how she started when she was young lol!

The box wall

I have been dealing with this wall for the last week. I am NOT one with this wall...this wall has moved several times. Up, down, around, I have looked inside EVERY box....no point in moving crap from one province to another if I don't have to.
We have collected a lot of crap over the last 4 years, and this isn't even including the "other" wall lol...the other wall of boxes stacked up in the back of the sea can that is from BEFORE we lived here....boxes that have NOT been opened in four years time. Now that will be just like Christmas opening those ones lol.
I do have proof for family members that call us hoarders though, we HAVE thrown out stuff....the following picture is evidence of that....this is one of THREE trailer loads we have taken away in the last few days.
So this pic is proof!!!!!!!!!!!! We actually take stuff TO the dump lol.
This is the back end of the sea can, the part we have NOT seen what's inside the boxes for four years...that and the awesome Jenga like packing that's all on top of it LOL.

Gotta love the small path going from front of sea can to the back of the sea can...not a lot of maneuvering room, plus the sea can is at a bit of a slant, so it's like being a drunk sailor walking in the thing too lol.
So now to top it all off, we have have a dozen MORE boxes at our temporary home that needs to go in there too...as we don't want to have to pack a moving trailer in TWO places.
Oh happy packing to us :-)

Cuttin the lawn

If I could cut the lawn at 7am, I totally would!!!!!!!!! I in fact would cut the lawn at 5am or 10pm or whatever time, but mostly I like to cut the lawn early.
Well, even that's not actually true either....I like to cut the lawn ANYTIME. In fact today, I wanted to go to back to the farm and cut the lawn but I woke up and the skies were all dark and grey....and then they opened up and poured rain for hours....this was very distressing to someone who is itching to get outside to cut the lawn. I often wonder if this is some kind of mental disorder, the love of lawn cutting...seriously...who the heck loves cutting the lawn...ME...I'm pretty sure it's all my parents fault for creating this problem of mine. As a kid we had to cut the lawn on Saturdays, it felt like it took all day at the time, but it probably was only an hour lol....I have no idea...but even back then...as much as I said I despised I actually liked it secretly.
Well I finally had a small pocket today of nice skies and I went out to the farm and was able to just about get done when it started to pour again. Growing up in BC you tend to become one with the rain, so I continued to cut the grass in the pouring rain, as I only had about 10 min left. I was soaked yet totally content the lawn was cut....ahhhhhhh, now to wait for it to grow so I can cut again LOL!!!!!!!!

Juicing

I have always known about juicing, just never did it on my own. A dear friend does it and she did it for me when we stayed at her place one time. I was really nicely surprised at how easy it really was and how fast, it wasn't some big long drawn out process to get some real goodness into my body.
The only thing I like to do is have it in a fancy glass when I drink it!!! This particular drink as you can see is one carrot, one beet and one apple....down that hatch! YUM

More then just a sister.....

I have the best sister in the whole wide world...and I am not just saying that because I am biased, it really is the truth. There are not many people who can say so many great things about their siblings. Our Mother told us when we were younger and fighting that one day we would love each other, I thought she was suffering a mental disability if she thought that was gonna be true.....I now know she suffered no such thing, but that she only suffered the jealousy she would of me and my sister because she had lost her own sister at an early age. She told me that having a sister would be a gift.
Well I had no idea then what a gift she would truly turn out to be to me. As I write this story about her I weep, because it's hard to talk about someone who means so much to me and has done so much for me selfishly.
Every Mothers Day I think about my sister. She never could have children of her own, and she has suffered in silence over this, and I hope one day she shares her struggle with me, until that time, I can only brag about how great she was to me and my children. I can only imagine the suffering she must have had to endure watching her baby sister get knocked up and have kids without trying....but she took that suffering and poured her heartache into my children. There are not many women out there that could or would do this.
She loved, cared for, nurtured, mentored, disciplined, praised, fed and about a billion more things for my children. Not only did she pack me around on her hip when she was 9 yrs old and I was a baby, she did the same with my kids.
I was a single Mom for most of my kids lives, and my sister became my children's second Mom. There have been times she forged my signature for school forms, picked up my kids from school or drunk from a concert....she has been there for them when they were babies to teenagers and for their transition from teenagers to young adulthood.
I think my kids know their Aunty is great, but until they have kids of their own, or until they are much older, only then will they truly understand how selfless she was for them.
There really should be a who special day as big as Mother's Day for sister's or special Aunties. But until then, I want my sister to know that she should celebrate Mother's Day just like any other Mother, because she Mother's me and she has been a Mom to my kids too.
I thank you my dear Sister, I love you! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
My sister's kids Winston and Kayla

My sister and I on her wedding day 25 yrs ago...whoa I'm old lol
Worlds greatest Aunty and Uncle!

My sister and her husband and their kids.
This last picture is a small glimpse into some of the stuff my sister does for my kids....this pic was taken for my son's benefit....she was pretending to smoke from a hooka lol.....oh my....
I have one other funny story about her and my kids....when my kids were younger, we were staying at my sisters house, and my kids were in the living room with my sister and husband, and one of my kids, can't remember which one said to her "Auntie...why don't you and Uncle have kids?" she replies to them with "We do, have have the dogs".....if you could just have been there to see these kids look on their faces.....you could tell, and practically hear their brains working....and thinking about it.....Auntie gave birth to puppies? I never laughed so hard in my whole life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only out of the mouth of babes!

Being a Mom to two AMAZING kids

I cannot deny she is my daughter lol

If I only knew that I should have kept her in here from age 13-16 lol

My son spinning me on a tire swing years ago...it was a BAD idea LOL.

My son in broken ankle recovery at my sister's house.

Seems my daughter had a thing for the police at an early age as well lol, just like her Mom lol

My precious son, looking so innocent what seems like forever ago!
Mothers day will be upon us in a few days, and I thought I would reflect a little bit and look back on some moments and pictures, this is just a small glimpse into my two crazy kids whom I love, adore and continue to learn and become a better human being because of!

Morning wake up calls...by geese!

Don't get me wrong, I really do LOVE my small piece of temporary home paradise we are living at until we make the final big move...however.....the last couple of days have been real hot ones here in the Cariboo which makes sleeping at night sometimes difficult. So, we have been leaving the patio doors open for some beautiful fresh air, and as you can see from the picture, there is a wonderful small lake right outside our doors. Well this morning (since both of us were too tired to get up in the middle of the night to close the door) at 5am, the local geese tenants of lake thought they would have a morning meeting.....LOUDLY. It's very hard to complain about nature when it's this beautiful, but I did however ask them if they could maybe start their meetings at 8am instead of 5am!

Home Sweet Home

We came out for another trip to our new home in Alberta, just couldn't resist it since I am no longer working and have the opportunity to get some stuff done there before the real big move in June.
We are having beautiful weather here right now too, which makes it even nicer! On my back deck today it was 26 degrees!!!
On Wednesday I was able to make my first trek to our local Transfer Station....I was corrected once I got there and called it the "dump"...naughty naughty, it's where stuff gets transferred TO the dump lol.....either way, the transfer station lady name Julie is gonna be my new best pal so I can scavenge there lol. If you don't have permission it's not aloud.
This is where we make contact with the outside world lol

Tomato plants I just had to get started on the deck since it's so nice out.
My "take a break" spot on the deck.
Nothing excites me more then a new lawn mower blade!!!!!!!!! Sick I know....you can see how much damage I did to the last one.....I loooooooooooooove the new shinny one my hubster bought me!! I have some sick obsession with cutting the lawn, in fact, since we have such a small lawn in the front, I did mine AND the neighbors LOL....this was so shocking to the "other" neighbors that one came along and asked me why I was doing that LMAO....I told her that since I'm here anyways why not? LOL I guess it's gonna take them a while to get used to me just doing things for them LOL.
Again, I couldn't resist getting some planters ready, these are just a few on the stairs. I was planning on doing some painting tomorrow, but plans have changed again, and my BFF is driving from Edmonton to come and visit with me, so I know for sure NOTHING will get done, and it will all be totally worth it!!!!
